Serina Faist is an abstract mixed media artist from Bentonville, Arkansas. She mainly works in acrylics, but also includes natural materials including wood, clay, and sand to create movement and texture in her art pieces. After graduating from a bachelor’s degree in Photojournalism, she began her career as a writer, photographer and layout designer in Arkansas. After a few years in journalism, she changed her focus to environmental education and conservation efforts, then large scale recycling and zero waste efforts.

Last year, she’s returned to her first  passion - creating art.

And, making space for things that bring joy.

Originally from the Southwest, she incorporates colors and patterns of New Mexico landscapes. As a child, Serina walked in nature with her Dad; he taught her to respect nature and protect land. He showed her the symmetry of plants and helped her understand nature’s rhythm in her surroundings. Serina sees the vivid colors of the landscape, smells the desert rain, and will always feel the Southwest in her soul. Serina draws inspiration from nature as well as artists

Louise Nevelson and Mondrian.
